Nestled on the shores of a private, trout-filled pond, our cabins are just a 5-minute drive from Virginia City–Montana’s historic territorial capital and former mining hub–and only a 2-minute drive from Nevada City. Relax on our “Garnet Beach” on the pond edge and enjoy amazing views of wildlife and the Tobacco Root Mountains. FREE PRIVATE PARKING. Mini-fridge, microwave, shower, towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, hairdryer, free Wi-Fi, and a cozy cabin for 2 await! Nearby are Yellowstone, Big Sky, Ennis, and trout-filled rivers.

Get away from the hustle & bustle and escape to one of our cabins along our private and trout-filled pond in Nevada City, Montana. Hangman’s Guest Ranch is just a 5-minute drive from the historic mining towns of Virginia City and Nevada City, Montana. Both are ghost towns with authentic buildings and stores, still in operation. Our cabins are the size of a standard (double bed) hotel room providing a Keurig machine with K-Cups (Regular and Decaf), creamer, sugar, a mini fridge, and a microwave. This unique location offers guests the opportunity to relax on the sandy beach of a private pond off of Alder Gulch. No pets allowed.

A combo Virginia City and Nevada City trip is an amazing trip on its own, but nearby is also the fishing capital of Ennis, as well as Big Sky Resort, Moonlight Basin, and Yellowstone Club. Hangman’s Guest Ranch is also in close proximity to the three blue ribbon trout streams of the Madison, Jefferson, and Gallatin Rivers, as well as the Ruby River, all of which converge close by to become the headwaters of the Missouri River. Lewis and Clark traveled through this area and the famous Bozeman Trail ends in Virginia City. The west entrance to Yellowstone National Park is about an hour and a half drive. Nearby recreation opportunities include fishing, hunting, hiking, boating, and more. This perfect Montana getaway will not disappoint!

Our facility is non-smoking. Please be respectful of our cabins.
Do you need to rent our entire facility consisting of 4 cabins? Our fully-appointed pagoda/outdoor kitchen is available at no additional charge upon rental of all cabins. Please inquire for details.
Due to the proximity of the pond, guests will be required to sign a liability waiver prior to receiving access to the property. No check-in will be permitted without all guests first signing our liability waiver. If you have not yet received your liability waiver, please contact us prior to your day of check-in.

Guest access

Please stay on the rock paths to keep the grass coming in nicely.
The storage building next to the cabins and the pagoda/gazebo building down by the pond are not for general guest use.

Other things to note
Guests will not be allowed to check-in if they have not signed the liability waiver, which must be signed no less than a day prior to check-in. Refunds will not be provided for a failure to sign the liability waiver unless requested in accordance with this property’s stated cancellation policy.
